Barℏbarim — Cover Letter 1.0 (Creator’s Whitepaper)
Big teams usually have whitepapers… I think solo-creators should have cover letters. I present to you, Barℏbarim’s Cover Letter 1.0.

About me
Hi all! I’m Barℏbarim and I’m a crypto enthusiast and creator. My daytime, full-time job is as a scientist (in fact, I’m a female engineering-scientist). Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM for short) is a passion for me, and therefore I truly love what I do. Additionally, I enjoy communicating about STEM-related topics to different audiences, from fellow-scientist, to business people, to kids and non-technical people. I have taken part as keynote speaker in different events, including a TEDx Talk, and I have written several research papers. However, I feel that as scientists, we don’t always do enough to show people outside our field what we do, and why science is, and has been, so important for society. Here is where I think NFTs can come to play. Just as artistic NFTs can be the gateway for crypto adoption, they can also be a path to communicate science, awaken the interest in STEM and have a more inclusive scientific community.
The Art of Barhbarim’s NFTs
Due to my job, I see beautiful phenomena which I think needs to be shared and taken out of the lab. For this reason, I have started to compilate some of my scientific results or related pictures of my experiments as artwork, turning some of them into NFTs. I also enjoy to take pictures where I see science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) present: a repetitive pattern, an optic effect, a structure, etc., either created by a human, a machine or by nature. Each artwork, usually a obtained by a combination of physical and digital elements, will have a description or explanation of what is seen, justifying its beauty, a STEM-related fact or a curiosity. In the case of purely digital artworks or collaborations, even when the art itself is not STEM-related (for the example Christmas Season collection), they will still include an interesting fact or curiosity, because the idea behind all my NFTs is that you and I learn something new. I think this is where the most fun comes from and what I have to offer to the NFT collector community! So no more wondering of why the creator decided to do this or that and why they thought it was a good idea to make an NFT out of it! Of course you might not agree or like something I create and NFTify, but I/the piece will tell you why I did it.
My NFTs are minted using Hedera, as it is one (if not THE) the greenest Layer One Proof-of-Stake DLT technologies and because I love the utility and fundamentals of the network. I might mint in another network in the future (but NEVER in Ethereum!), but I’m sure Hedera is the right place now.
My NFTs sales normally conducted via DM at the beginning, while a Hedera-based open and good marketplace is open. Please bear in mind that since this a single-person NFT project/venture and as I said, I have a full-time busy science job plus I’m setting up my own technical startup, therefore response times can be slower than compared to big scale, full-machine projects, and I might not release collections so often. However, this also makes my NFTs more exclusive and valuable: they take dedication and only a few pieces of each are series and collection are minted. Honestly, you will rarely see a single token ID or series with more than 30 mints (unless there is a collaboration or an airdrop). I usually prefer to keep 5–10 mints per piece, and in many cases a single, unique 1/1 piece. Overall, I prefer uniqueness and quality over quantity (and you should too): I prefer to buy a piece that only has 5 mints at 500 hbar each, than 1 minted 100 times sold at 50 hbar each. The same when I offer you an NFT, because I want to create value and uniqueness for you.
Technicals and Utility
- 3% of every collection’s profit will be given to a charity that supports STEM, specially the ones supporting equality and inclusion. A proof of the donation will be provided in my social media.
- I usually prefer to do 5–10 mints per piece, and it many cases a single, unique 1/1 piece. 30 mints will be the maximum amount to mint per token or series, unless there is a collaboration or an airdrop, and this will be communicated. Each collection can be composed of one or more series.
- All Barℏbarim NFTs are digital art only, unless otherwise indicated.
- All Barℏbarim NFTs have a 5% royalties, unless otherwise specified.
- All holders of the First Collection “Inside Square Babel: Hedera Genesis”, in any of their series (including also VCCESS Special and Digital KRW Genesis), will have a 10% to 15% discount when buying via direct purchases* in any future collections**, and they can possibly receive future airdrops and/or priority for events (e.g. auctions, whitelists, waitlists).
- All utility defined here is not guaranteed to Barℏbarim NFT holders. The value of Barℏbarim NFTs should only be based on their digital art value.
*I would like to keep this even if the NFTs are sold via marketplace, but I cannot guarantee it as I don’t know how the marketplaces will work.
**In the case of collaborations, I will also do my best to guarantee this, but it can depend on the agreement with the collaborator.
Final thoughts
I hope that when open marketplaces for Hedera NTFs will be here, I can offer you a better experience and value.
Let’s ride the STEM-related NFT wave together! If you have curiosity and want to learn about different facts, appreciate science-art or simple love to collect interesting NFTs, then my collections are for you. Follow me on Twitter and in the VCCESS metaverse (both @barhbarim). I’m also open for collaboration, so feel free to contact me.
Yours,
Dr. Barℏbarim
I thank you for reading and your support! To celebrate the release of this cover letter (whitepaper), I will do a giveaway of 2 Graphite Series of the first Collection “Inside Square Babel: Hedera Genesis”, via Twitter and when we reach 300 and 350 followers, respectively, so make sure to share!
