If you have read this article and the previous ones in the series, you might notice that your assessment regarding my thoughts on Scripture, while rather biased, is correct.

You are correct, that the God of the Church is Triune and One. However, the God taught by Jesus is One God. Jesus does speak of his unity with the Father, but never that they are the same.

Jesus' teachings about the Holy Spirit fall in line with this as well. The Spirit of God is an aspect of God, but not itself God.

Both the Oneness of God and the relationship of the Holy Spirit to God are in line with the tradition that Jesus is from in relationship to the Torah.

While hinted at and discussed by the Church Fathers, starting with Paul, the Trinity would not become orthodox until much later. As this article notes, I advocate for orthopraxy in line with the teachings of Jesus over orthodoxy in line with the traditions of the Church.
