My First Moment to be Impressed

In 2018, Samsung released Galaxy Note 9, and two Sia songs were introduced thanks to that.

Later Impressions

Frankly speaking, I didn’t know ‘Chandelier’ at all when that song was released to the world in 2014 (a decade ago) because I didn’t have any interest in pop music. When I recognized ‘Chandelier,’ that was totally one step behind, so my sister laughed at me.

Then, I researched through the Internet and read carefully some articles about almost everything about her. I was shocked and had sympathy to her even though I didn’t meet her in my real life. And I could understand the reason why she does not show her face to the audience.

I like unique things, and Sia is magnificently perfect for that. While I listen to her songs, I found that she is really pouring her emotion to the song. I am not sure the right comparison or not, it can be called “Sorrow” in Korean-way or Korean-style. (In Hangul: 한) As you know, she overcame almost everything and she is rising again to a better future. This is her successful story, touched my heart and soul.

Characteristic

I cannot notify she is singing in English because her way of singing and pronunciation are unique. You may agree with me and even she has acknowledged in Carpool Karaoke with James Corden. I saw many YouTube comments which indicates “pronounced lyrics” to our ears, not the original. I even heard as “I’ll go through the grocery store” in LSD’s Thunderclouds. So her songs might not be good to improve English listening skills, though. (Sorry, Sia!)

LSD? What the name is f…..! Anyway, that super group and their song “Thunderclouds” totally captured my heart when I watched Samsung’s Unpacked in 2018, as I said before. And I don’t know about the US commercial but her famous Christmas song “Snowman” was featured in Korean Galaxy Note 9 commercial later.

And a few years ago, I heard “Chandelier” in the local Korean mart. I had to explain about this song to my father who had a little bit curiosity of my saying “Oh~ I know this song! It is very famous!” I hope the story had reached to him well.
