We keep reading stories about fake followers on Twitter and fake fans on Facebook. There’s a very simple and easy fix.

Notice anything missing from the profile pictures shown here? Look closely and you’ll see my suggestion on display.

You see, I suggest that Facebook and Twitter simply stop displaying counts. Just let the content stand on it’s own. Problem solved.

Imagine how much different things would be. People would actually focus on delivering what people want.

You don’t have to be a genius to see how simple a tweak on Facebook and Twitter this change would be.

Unless of course, Facebook and Twitter benefit from the vanity of fan and follower counts. Hmmm.
