Can you point to the section where this is explicitly stated? I’ve been through the document a few times now, and what I’ve read is mainly that women and men *in general* have aptitudes for different jobs, which is at least partially explained by biological differences.
This general statement doesn’t imply anywhere that the people working at google are somehow “not good enough” to do their jobs. It isn’t a case of “women can’t do this” so much as a case of “less woman than men might be able to do this”.
I’m not sure if this is true for the engineering discipline, as it seems that everyone has their own view on this, but while we’re still trying to figure out how to objectively judge engineering skill, it seems a bit silly to try and figure out which gender is better (apparently he thinks women are worse, you think women are better, but without any empirical way to determine that, it’s not really relevant).
