Now, most of you will be thinking to yourselves how a sweet syrupy coffee flavored liquor from Mexico can have anything to do with a curative effect on your diabetes. I want to assure you Kahlúa has lowered my A1C a full point from 8.6 to 7.6 over the past six months. I have also been able to lose 20 pounds during that same time period by taking regulars doses of Kahlúa at least 3 to 4 times a week, but perhaps I am getting ahead of myself.

A better place to start would be almost 20 years ago when at the age of 38 I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. I remember how it first started. I had this unquenchable thirst drinking water, Gatorade, chocolate milk, anything to satiate the parched sand dunes that were masquerading as my taste buds. Not in my remotest imagination could I have believed at the time that I had diabetes. The thought never even entered my mind. I was the picture of health running five days a week and doing some cross training with resistance exercises and light free weights.
