Going the #extramile through In Person Drop

Going the extramile through in person’s drop is although a difficult task if someone dreams for a multinational company and when he is job holder as well because it is difficult for him to manage time. I faced the same difficulties while reaching out to the Multinational Company in IT firms. I planned in advance to go for in person drop to one of my dream company named Ebryx which is located at Arfa software Technology Park Lahore.

At Tuesday evening I customized my Resume and Cover letter and printed them. Then at night I thoroughly searched about company’s latest products and its services and went through them. Similarly I searched about the HR manager and CEO of the Company through their Company’s site as well as through LinkedIn and searched about their career and their specialized area and their achievements. At the same time I was really inspired from their success and decided that I will struggle more and more to achieve my goals better than them. I prepared everything in advance like professional dress, polished my shoes and prepared mentally as well for the situation. Before going to sleep, I planned to wake up early in the morning and go for the in person drop from 9am to 10am So that I can go to attend my current duty as well.

I woke up early in the morning and prepared to go to my dream Company. When I reached at the gate of Arfa Software Technology park, I told to the gate keeper that I am going to meet the HR Manager of Ebryx , they called to Ebryx at the same time about mine and at last they gave me permission to go inside. When I went there and asked the Receptionist about my concern and want to meet the HR in person. She told me that the HR Manager has not come yet and give me your Resume and I will hand over to him. I told that it’s no problem, I will wait for him .So I waited for about an hour and he did not come and then I kept my Resume and cover letter with the Receptionist and told her to give these to HR Manager and also speak about me that I came for in person’s drop. I went from there and planned to come here later and took the visiting card from the Receptionist.

Then at 2 pm, I called the Receptionist about the HR Manager that if he has come and fortunately he was present that time. I asked for leave from my Manager at Ptcl for an hour and again visited Ebryx and sit there for his response. Then I was called by the HR in his own office. This was a very stressful situation at all and I repeated my elevator pitch and told him about how passionate I am to become their team player at their Company. He appreciated my interest and said that “as soon as there vacancy comes then I will definitely call for you”, I said thank you and came back from there. At night I emailed him follow up thankyou email.

It was very good experience at all and I hope that he will consider my application for the upcoming vacancies. Now I am planning for in person drop for one of my other dream Company in the coming week as well and hope that they will give me the same response if I am lucky.
