Sharing the 6 tips with your classmate

Yesterday I called my friend Saleem Anwar to come to our office and said that I want to share some valuable tips regarding your career. He is my junior and will be graduated in the next month. He felt very happy and after an hour he came over there.

I started conversation that I have few tips about choosing your career and development and want to share with you so that you can chose your career path in a better way without any hurdle.

Then I shared all the below six tips one by one with a pause between each tip for further conversation between me and him about the tip.

Find your passion and align it with your career

Decisions are very unique to each person, what’s right for one isn’t right for the other

Own your decisions: Don’t let other people make decisions for you and don’t blame anyone else

4. Do an internship before pursuing a higher degree to confirm if you like that field/industry

5. Don’t do PhD if you want to be an entrepreneur or work in corporate sector

6. Spend at least one year in your first job

After listening all the tips and he wrote down and noted them on the page then he said that I am in final year now but I was not sure about my career and even did not think about it. He was so much motivated by all the tips and especially he mentioned Tips 1, 3 and 4 and said that these tips really changed my mind that what should I do now and which field should I focus on. He further continued that if these tips were taught to us during the University life then we will have clear idea of our interest field.

Experience:

From this activity, I learned that if you share some useful tips even one or two tips with a needy person at a right moment who really wants your suggestion and feedback then it feel you that at least I have done something better for someone else’s life and career. The way he showed his gratitude and motivation towards me, it really encouraged me to share these tips with my other friends as well. Now, it also helped me to memorize all the tips and their examples in a better way.
