What is your interlude?

What is your interlude? The Definition of Interlude as it is and as I see it is. A brief period of time that comes in the middle of something. You might enjoy a glass of Champagne after long debated contract, or you might simply enjoy a breeze of cold air, after a long day in the desert

Any block of time that comes as a break or a change of activity can be called an interlude, so you could talk about a quiet interlude after a noisy beach party or an interlude of peace after years of angry war.

In today’s busy schedules and social life’s our interludes have deviated from a time when you could peacefully enjoy a whole book, to a time where you will be interrupted by 3 notifications 1 phone call and a few WhatsApp messages.

Time used to be much more flexible and much more valuable, our parents would always say. People have forgotten the value of face to face communication and have increased the value to phone to phone interaction, but what should we really do if that’s the way the world is moving?

I start my blog with 4 things you need to consider before enjoying an interlude.

  1. Learn that there is an offline life waiting for you!

Weather you sat down with your friends to enjoy an activity or you have just landed in a city you have been dying to see, remember that most of our online activities are based on sharing, sharing stories, sharing pictures, and sharing news to the people who matter. what we have forgotten the most is that before we run to share we have to live the moment ourselves, enjoy the cappuccino that you are snapping on Instagram, take a look at the Eiffel Tower that you just posted to your Facebook, and listen to what your friend is actually telling you before you tag him in a comment! Online is great, and i have nothing against it — but don’t let it ruin those short interludes of your life! This whole social life started from people’s need to share, the scary part is that we are starting to share things we haven’t enjoyed ourselves

  1. Make a plan.

Free time can only be useful if well planned, indeed I do not encourage you to let go of the spontaneous joys of life that actually do come unplanned, but have some borders and objectives set in your mind or better even on a paper before your roam into your interlude. Instead of following your Google map when lost in a city, print the map in advance and stop people on the way to help you with directions. Instead of flipping the TV in hope for a good movie — find something you would like, rent it and make the peaceful time for it! for me the most important part of Making a plan is deciding what is useful for me one that day, or for that month — knowing that I would love some relaxation I plan a beach vacation, knowing that my soul is carving adventure i find the closest sky diving range! the secret here is to know yourself and only by that you will learn how to be happy

  1. Expand your limits.

What better way to get to know yourself than to expand your horizon. Do you remember that you were an excellent chess player? or an Amazing musician during your school days remember very clearly that the pen and the notebook at certain times of my life where my best friends and it’s that pen and that notebook that actually drove me to this Blog.

simply indulge yourself in something new and you never know how much you could enjoy it! Experiencing and expanding is not only done through travel, for there is books, movies and meeting new people that open you roads you did not know in yourself or on this planet

  1. Control your interruptions

my last boss used to say, there’s nothing so important that it cannot wait for 24 hours, and what my last boss forget to mention is that if it was so important you will get a phone call about it, because thankfully in today technology there is no one that we cannot reach at any time at any place on this planet. and email leads to a link the link leads to your Facebook and your Facebook leads back to another link and by the time you realize the day is almost over and your interlude has passed.
