BaseX island and SEZ.network

The time leading to the Latitude59 was extremely busy, consumed loads of energy, the videos below explain why…

I was not fully present during the Latitude59, but not all hope is lost, we can remain in touch outside the event as well.

We had a demanding filmmaker, so much work!

On the first day, the landing wasn’t practically possible.

On the second day, it was smooth sailing.

Explanation of a pivot

The island is not an angel / seed / VC backable type of business.

Ideally, we would welcome a wealthy philanthropist with an impact investment mindset.

Parallel to that, we do community crowdfunding, maybe we will manage to herd all the cats, gets all ducks in the row?

SEZ.network — a network of SEZ, Special Economic Zones

The pitch in a nutshell… Pakistan. India. CPEC. Which law is applicable?

We meet in Tallinn, I’m originally from Poland, living in the UK, you live in Germany, and run a web agency with Ukrainian developers, all the deliverables are in the digital realm — code on GitHub, end product in the App Store. We talk on Skype, invoices are sent via Gmail and paid via PayPal. Which law is applicable?

(subject to negotiation but it would be a shame if a deal falls over because we didn’t agree which court has jurisdiction)

We can totally standardize certain defaults.

We can totally establish baseline standards.

New default agreements, new law that is designed from the ground up with the global, digital economy in mind.

This is just the beginning

SEZ.network

Shenzhen was once a fishing village, Dubai was once a piece of a desert.

We are making it happen and the next stop is the Island Innovation Summit.

Barbados has received global praise for its new “digital nomad” visa to attract long-stay visitors that can contribute to the local economy and replace a slice of the lost tourist dollars. Other countries including Bermuda, Croatia & Estonia have launched similar initiatives and competition is already rising between tourist destinations as a few intrepid travellers become new pioneers.
