A classic furniture series with modern innovation was created by Le Corbusier. This style is a modern answer to the traditional club chairs.

A French/Swiss designer, architect, painter and writer, Charles-Édouard Jeanneret-Gris (better known as Le Corbusier) was one of the initiator of what is now called Modern Architecture. His main idea was a balance of standards and perfection. The modern ideas found in his architecture were later expressed in his designs for simple and streamlined furniture.

The Le Corbusier Furniture was introduced in 1928 in Paris by Le Corbusier and his team of designers. He started experimenting with modern design after collaborating with the architect, Charlotte Perriand. This collaboration has resulted in three chrome-plated tubular steel chairs designed for his projects.

These stylish chairs were known as the famous LC-1, LC-2, LC-3 and LC-4 models.

LC-1 was originally titled “Basculant”,
LC-2 is “great comfort sofa, small model”,
LC-3 is “great comfort sofa, large model”,
LC-4 is “long chair”

The years have passed, but the reproductions of tubular steel chairs by Le Corbusier are still popular today. The Le Corbusier’s chairs, love seats and sofas are popular due to fact that they are designed in contemporary style with leather cushions and chrome on steel frames.

Brands like East End Imports, Fine Mod and Eurø Style specialize in creating the reproductions of Le Corbusier Furniture, so you can browse high quality reproductions of sofas and chairs at our store.
