Narration from Jabir (R.A):

In the book Zakhair ul Uqba, Imam Tibri narrates a statement from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) is the Gate of Paradise (Babul Jannat) and the one for whom it is written: “La ilaha illallah, Muhammadur Rasoolullah, Aliun Akh Rasoolullah.” The statement continues, stating that these words were inscribed before the creation of the heavens and the earth and even before the creation of time itself.

This narration highlights the special status of Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and the profound significance of the Shia Karma, which includes the declaration of faith in Allah, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and Imam Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). It emphasizes the pre-eternal nature of this declaration, indicating its divine importance in the eyes of Allah.

The book “Fara’id Us Simtain” contains a profound narration highlighting the blessed inscriptions on the gates of Paradise. According to the narration, when the beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was granted the opportunity to read what was written on the gates of Paradise, the following words adorned each gate:

First Gate:

“There is no god but Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. Ali is the friend of Allah. For everything, there is a trick, and life’s trick consists of four qualities: To have contentment, to sacrifice for the truth, to refrain from malice, and to be in the company of virtuous people.”

Second Gate:

“There is no god but Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. Ali is the friend of Allah. For everything, there is a trick, and the trick for happiness consists of four qualities: To wipe over the head of orphans, to show affection towards widows, to strive in fulfilling the needs of believers, and to check on the poor and the needy.”

Third Gate:

“There is no god but Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. Ali is the friend of Allah. There is a trick for everything, and the trick for good health in this world consists of four qualities: to speak little, sleep little, walk little, and eat little.”

Fourth Gate:

“There is no god but Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. Ali is the friend of Allah. Let him who believes in Allah and the Last Day be hospitable towards his guest. Let him who believes in Allah and the Last Day be generous towards his neighbor. Let him who believes in Allah and the Last Day be kind towards his parents. Let him who believes in Allah and the Last Day speak good or remain silent.”

Fifth Gate:

“There is no god but Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. Ali is the friend of Allah. Let him, who does not want to be oppressed, not oppress others. Let him who does not wish to be slandered not slander others. Let him who does not want to be humiliated, not humiliate others, and let him who wishes to hold fast to the most trustworthy handhold that never breaks, in this world and the Hereafter, say: There is no god but Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. Ali is the friend of Allah.”

Sixth Gate:

“There is no god but Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. Ali is the friend of Allah. Let him build mosques to have his grave wide and broad. Let him, who does not wish to be eaten by earthworms, attend the mosques. Let him who wants his body to remain soft, tender, and never be decomposed sweep the floors of the mosques, and let him who wants to witness his place in Paradise cover the floors of mosques with rugs.”

Seventh Gate:

“There is no god but Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. Ali is the friend of Allah. The purity of the heart is found in four qualities: In visiting the sick, participating in funerals, purchasing shrouds, and repaying loans.”

Eighth Gate:

“There is no god but Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. Ali is the friend of Allah: Let him who wishes to enter from these gates hold fast to four qualities: generosity, good manners, charity, and abstention from harming the servants of Allah.”

In the remarkable pages of “Muadat Ul Qurba Urdu,” we encounter a profound riwayat narrated by Abdullah bin Salam, who sought the wisdom of the beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Abdullah bin Salam, filled with reverence for the Prophet (PBUH), approached him and requested, “O Rasool Ullah! Enlighten me about the knowledge of Hamd and its extraordinary manifestations.” The Prophet, in his divine wisdom, responded, “The extent of this knowledge will be equivalent to a thousand years of continuous worship. Its foundation will be as glorious as red ruby, adorned with the hilt of a sword made of pure pearls, and its cover embellished with a green emerald. This knowledge will possess three braids. One will be in the east, the second in the west, and the third in the world's heart. Each braid will be engraved with a specific phrase: The first shall commence with ‘Bismillah hir Rahman nir Rahim,’ the second with ‘Alhamdulillah Rabbil Alamin,’ and the third with ‘La ilaha ill Allah, Muhammadur Rasoolullah, Aliun Waliullah.’”

The Prophet further revealed that the length of each braid would endure for a thousand days of the journey. Astounded, Abdullah bin Salam sought more clarity and inquired about those under the shadow of this profound knowledge. The Prophet answered, “The followers of truth, friends of Allah, and the Shia of Allah and myself, as well as those who hold profound love for Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), and the Ansar, who are true supporters, will be under the divine shade of this knowledge. For them, the outcome will be wondrous, with a blessed and noble destiny.”

The Prophet warned against those who may misuse or undermine the significance of this knowledge, stating that severe punishment awaits those who engage in falsehood, oppose Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), or dispute his exalted position.

In the pages of “Shawahid Un Nubuwa,” a meaningful event unfolds during the Battle of Siffin, where the noble companions of Imam Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) face a dire need for water. They tirelessly searched for a source to quench their thirst. Despite their efforts, the desert seemed devoid of water, leaving them in a state of distress. Imam Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), displaying his unwavering faith and reliance on Allah’s guidance, summoned his divine intuition. He moved his blessed hand over a well, and to their amazement, a magnificent carriage appeared in the distance. Upon reaching the carriage, they found a person residing within. Upon inquiry, the person revealed that water was available two farsangs away (approximately 13 kilometers).

As the companions expressed their wish to obtain the water before their strength waned, Imam Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) inquired about the necessity for such urgency. Then, he gestured towards the west and commanded them to dig at a specific location. To their astonishment, upon digging, they found an immense stone that seemed impossible to remove. Undeterred, Imam Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) placed his hand beneath the stone and, with great strength, lifted it, revealing a refreshing, calm, and pure stream of water.

A pious monk residing in the carriage observed this extraordinary event. Overwhelmed by this miraculous revelation, the monk sought the truth from Amirul Momineen, asking if he was a Prophet or a Messenger of Allah. Imam Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) humbly replied that he was not, but he was the successor (Wasi) of the last Messenger, Prophet Muhammad bin Abdullah. Upon this revelation, the monk’s heart was instantly touched. He embraced Islam wholeheartedly and recited the powerful Shahada (testimony of faith):

“Ashhadu alla ilaha illallah wa ashhadu anna Muhammadur Rasool Allah, wa ashhadu annaka Aliyun Waliullah.”

The monk explained that their scriptures foretold that only a Prophet or his chosen successor could lift the stone covering the water stream. Witnessing Imam Ali’s (may Allah be pleased with him) extraordinary act confirmed his divine status as the successor of Prophet Muhammad.

The miraculous conversion of the devoted monk near Siffin stands as a testament to the divine support bestowed upon Imam Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). Through this awe-inspiring incident, the humble monk witnessed the truth of Islam and embraced it wholeheartedly. This miraculous event remains etched in history, reflecting the divine wisdom and recognition of Imam Ali as the chosen successor of Prophet Muhammad.

These remarkable pieces of evidence from Sunni books eloquently validate the Shia Kalma’s significance and presence in Islamic history. The journey of discovery does not end here, as more compelling references will continue to be explored, affirming the unity and rich tapestry of the Islamic faith.
