Early Life and Turning to Piracy

Edward Low, often referred to as "Ned," was born into the harsh streets of Westminster, London, around 1690. Coming from a background of poverty, Low experienced firsthand the struggles that drove many to desperate measures. His early life in the crowded, grimy quarters of one of London's poorest areas was defined by hard labor, which included a stint as a ship rigger. Life was exceptionally unforgiving, and the young Ned quickly learned to fend for himself in a world where survival was often a game of brute force and cunning.

At some point, after enduring years of backbreaking work and barely scraping by, Low decided the rigid societal structures of London offered him nothing but continued hardship. So, he made his way to the New World, settling in the bustling, lawless port of Boston. However, rather than finding the freedom and opportunity he sought, he found himself continually embroiled in conflicts and arguments, eventually losing his job and any prospects of steady work.
