Waiting for Summer…

Recall about those times when every year the summer vacations end and it is the start of a new academic year. That beautiful period is marked with so much of enthusiasm and excitement. Also, it’s the time when you hear the thundering sounds that clouds make. It’s an indication perhaps that the “kick-start” to your year is not going to be easy. Be it work or college, you see some new faces, some people leave, things get tough but you keep going, don’t you?
Also, it is the exact same time when you realize that rain drops are not like lullaby and monsoon is not all about love. By the way, are you a workaholic? If yes, no doubts that you hate this season. Because rainy season is never about sitting besides your window, reading a book and sipping coffee. It’s more about struggle, efforts to settle in your new academic year, promising yourself things and trying to become a better person. Anxiety spears through darkness and all you can do is just keep going. Hope is the only thing you have here!

Then comes a time when nature undresses itself in the most beautiful and eloquent manner. This is probably the time you have become habitual to your routine. Autumn never lets you feel lonely. It makes you feel that there’s more to life and everyday is a gift. You sit and watch the leaves turn and on the other side your life has taken a leap ahead. You have made some new friends, you have completed your assignments and now you feel more confident.
Your difficult start has collapsed into a wonderful fall. Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go. You find contentment in those little things, like a kid’s smile, holding someone’s hands and embracing your messy hair at the end of the day.
This oddly satisfying month!

Well, put on your sweatshirt, pull up your socks, light an epic bonfire and get a little cosy…winter is finally here! Let’s have a cup of soup because this is going to be the most terrifying times of all, patience is your friend here. Life will hit you hard and test you for everything. And I know that you will fight back.
Winters are so smooth in the start, but as time passes by everything gets more tough and sharp. You are heartbroken and you have your toughest exam tomorrow. You want to sleep but you can’t sleep. Everything is screwed up but you are still manoeuvring in those deep woods to find peace and solace. And when you are just about to give up, someone says you that no winter lasts forever and you keep going.
But there is a transition period in winters as well… transition to new years. Decembers don’t mark the end of a year. Instead the new year celebrations are just for you to realise that half of the year is gone and you need to make something productive out of the other half. This is the reason why you celebrate every 31st. It secretly inspires you. Makes you feel happy and helps you to wash away all your regrets.

Now we have come more close to the closure. The climax is filled with so many emotions, on one side there are regrets but on the other side you are actually proud of yourself. No matter what the world thinks about you, you know what you have gone through.
After those cold nights, there is a bright morning. You wake up and see a butterfly wandering in the gardens filled with colourful flowers. Spring breathes new life into the world around you. You are so eager for this year to end. You feel that you are writing the last lines of your yearbook. Everything is just okay in the end, isn’t it?

And then finally comes summer!
Do you realise you have waited for it the entire year…summer feels as if we are finally breathing again…it feels so satisfactory after those turmoil we have got in. Its the season where your hair gets lighter and your skin gets darker. Water gets warmer and drinks get colder. Music gets louder and life……it just gets better!
Agree or not,
But that’s what we have been doing our entire lives…waiting for summer!
