A short script about “FTL”
At the start of the movie, we can see a very high-end spacecraft vessel getting ready for a great launch.
Inside it sits commander Kane who is in constant contact with his team for his dispatch.
They are trying out this new spaceship called LONGSHOT that can travel faster than the speed of light with its extremely high-end propulsion system.
They have decided to test its speed by launching it into the orbit of Mars, which according to NASA will take only just 3 minutes to reach its destination.
Before heading to the destination, we can see Commander Kane looking into a photo of his wife and son and reflecting on their happy days together and how he promised his wife of his safe return to earth.
Immediately next he gets ready to board for Mars and commands his crew team for his successful launch which he calls the “FTL BURN”.
A wave of tension surrounds everyone and finally, the huge controller in front of him starts all over almost immediately lightning up his huge spaceship and its wheel-like structure on the back side starts revolving at a great pace, and almost on a spur-of-the-moment he vanishes into nowhere.
For a short amount of time, he had lost his access with his team and his departure had already become the huge headline of the day.
His wife and son and the whole world were eagerly waiting for his reach on Mars on the world’s most high-tech speed-enabled spacecraft.
And he finally is seen reaching Mars orbit within a few seconds and reconnecting with the team members again.
Everyone is then seen celebrating the victory of the whole journey. And the team then commands for a reach back to earth.
His wife seems so relieved all over.
And no sooner did Kane restart his controller switch, it failed to start working the usual way.
It felt as if his spacecraft already started but it faced some issues with its drive control.
And once again the engine started with its huge wheel revolving and Commander Kane having absolutely no idea as to where will he be heading again gets pulled over and the spacecraft disappears again.
Now the crew completely lost connection with Longshot and is searching for it all over via satellite radar.
And here in the other scene, we can see the spacecraft running through a tunnel of spacetime warping all around it, and inside it, Kane is totally confused and scared. The spacecraft due to its friction and high-intensity speed starts damaging hence giving a trigger warning of “hull breach” or a puncture in its surface.
Kane is seen shocked for life and reflects on his old memories with his family sobbing and thinking that he might never return back to them.
And boom! The spacecraft has reappeared again but in another dimension of space with an enormous, gigantic ring-like structure resembling the “Dyson sphere”.
It has a glowing mass in its core point and has got some unknown electrical signals all over. And it has got some crystalline structured asteroid-like mass flying around it.
Here immediately the window of Longshot is seen crackling slowly. and the spaceship is literally breaking into pieces and almost everything is getting vapourised into the empty space until those crystalline structures are seen to approach it rapidly and the scene ends here.
On the other side of the story, everyone is shocked and terrified by the spaceship’s disseapperence, and time moves on slowly and its already been 21 hours since the team is constantly searching for Longshot’s signal in space when suddenly they detected an unknown anomaly approaching the earth’s orbit.
On the other hand, Kane’s wife is seen standing and waiting all alone disappointed by the news of her missing husband sees their son suddenly rushing to their lawn by an unknown signalling sound.
Even she runs behind to find it out and here the movie uncovers the two crystallized and alien-like objects casting electric waves from both sides thereby creating or rather producing the lost commander Kane.
They instantly get shocked and happy at the same time and run to hug him. he seems to gain his consciousness back and it remained a mystery as to how and who rescued him in the other dimension where his spaceship got stuck, and there ends the movie.
