Thanks, Mark, for your comment. We’re aware of Bejan’s work. It’s quite interesting. And no doubt West isn’t alone in grappling with such concepts. As this review notes, the book is also about people other than West, “individuals who stood on each other’s shoulders to apply the laws of physics and to discover/define quantitative laws for the complexities of living things.”
