Being between jobs is terrible

There’s no place around here to get away from it all…

To seek a quiet place to reflect…

To find perspective…

And find a new path…

Away from emergencies-that-shouldn’t-be-emergencies…

And reinforce what’s important.

On a serious note, I went on a nice, long hike yesterday by myself and took these photos. It’s easy to get caught up in the trivialities of a job, wrapped up in a burrito of emails and stress. Being between jobs, I’m trying to make the best of this time to unwind and be honest with myself with what I want to do — how I want to make an impact — with the last half of my career. It hasn’t been easy, but I also don’t doubt for a second leaving was the right choice. I needed another path. As for what that path looks like, I’m trying to find the answers that make sense for me. Nature helps. It makes our problems seem smaller. Until I figure it out, I’ll keep hiking.
