Wireframes are dead—why I haven’t used wires in over a year.
Zakary Kinnaird

Like the term ‘designframes’. Gonna use that one. We’ve adopted a similar approach in our studio. We’ve found value in a 1–2 day road-mapping session with the client where everyone get’s on the same page about user goals, content/tech requirements, competitor/UX audit, and finishing with a sitemap and wires that outline content. A sitemap is quickly produced and approved and then the design team begins ‘designframing’. Basically, ditching Photoshop and using Sketch has allowed for a rapid and iterative approach to visual design that’s opened up the creative process to more innovation.
