“There’s room enough here for science to live, And there’s room enough here for religion to forgive, And try to understand other people of this land This is our country.” John Mellencamp’s “Our Country” is reminiscent of the outrage of Colin Kaepernick (local) choosing to sit during the National Anthem at a pre-season game against the Green Bay Packers. The topic has been hot for 5 days now with the country seemingly at a divide on whether to respect the flag and stand, or respect Kaepernick’s stance to exercise his 1st Amendment Right to protest police brutality against people of color with the multitude of killings and not being held accountable.

“Mr. Wendell” by Arrested Development — Is representative of the homeless problem in Oakland and San Francisco. The song makes a homeless man “bum” a human being. We need a collective effort on everybody’s part to curtail our homeless population increasing rapidly.

Ice Cube’s “The Nigga Trapp,” is a song about the systemic racist system going after people of color. This story however has a somewhat happy ending after a man of 111 prisoners will be released soon by president Obama. An east bay man named Darryl Lamar Reed is being released after 30 years. He was busted at 20 years old during former and deceased president Reagan’s “War on Drugs,” for selling drugs. The “War on Drugs” was the beginning of what is now known as Modern Day Jim Crow with high percentages of people of color being incarcerated for the same or lessor crimes than their white counterparts.

Fremont police are trying to catch some “brazen” home robbers and gang members. The Appropriate songs for these criminals is BAD BOYS, the theme from COPS.

Donald Trump visited the Bay Area for a fund raising event this past Monday on August 29, 2016. I hope he didn’t raise much of those $25,000 per person tickets. John Lennon’s Imagine is what I chose for this man because if he makes president an Imagination will be a requirement for us all.
