I agree with your sentiments but curiosity rarely ends in actually showing up at a political rally. Especially in the internet era when you can watch quite a few of these rallies on line. I personally could care less about your father’s politics but it is reasonable in this day and age to expect that people at a political rally aren’t on a fact finding mission and completely clueless about the broad strokes of whatever platform being discussed.

Also, it’s hard to really get worked up over the internet’s response to your father’s choosing to attach himself to the Cruz’ campaign. Any celebrity that shows up to anything political knows they will be paraded around in some way by the campaign or their competitors. If your father was not expecting this then I’m honestly speechless seeing as how he has lived with his celebrity and all of the ramifications since what the late 70s.
