Ebrahim Mohammadian Elird’s Inner World
A Letter to BBuzzArt Curator
Dear BBuzzArt Curator and fellow Buzzers,
I was born in Tabriz, Iran, 1985, in an artistic family. I have inherited the passion for the fine arts form my mother, who is a painter and sculptor and my graphic artist and printmaker sister. I am now living and working with my wife in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Since early ages, I have manifested my interest in art, mainly sculpture. After finishing Art High school “Mirak” in Tabriz by the year 2007, I was enrolled at the Art University in Yazd, Iran, Department for Sculpture. I specialized sculpture and painting as the student of one of the most important Iranian contemporary artists Mohammad Fasounaki, for over fifteen years. So I have the opportunities to win awards for my artwork and got them shown at different exhibitions and art fairs in Iran and abroad.
In 2016, I established my own Art Jewellery Studio “Jewellery EM”, along with my wife Ena Mulavdic. I am the leading designer, artist and jewellery maker for Jewellery EM studio. My work in the field of art jewellery design was recognized by various important magazines, such as Vogue UK, Goldschmiede Zeitung, Tatler UK, Vanity Fair, GQ, Glamour etc. These achievements have all keep me going on my art journey.
Miniature portraits form the “Inner World” series (167 portraits) are the representation of the world that we are keeping in ourselves. Our characteristics, behaviors, desires, wishes etc. are represented as people. We are the rulers of our inner world. Our obligation is to cherish everyone from our inner world, in order to improve ourselves. Since our nature has the fractal characteristic, the same could be applied when analyzing the world on our planet Earth. Every person is a part of something we call population. Population on Earth, seen from space, is perceived as one “body”. Zoom it in, or out, there is always the same structure and there is always a need to accept and improve in order to liberate ourselves.
