Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
Crossover Art Appreciation — Painting X Poem
Poetry is considered as the first and highest form of art from the earliest records about art dated back to the ancient times. Poetry, now categorized under the greater literature, is an art form older than the system of literature was well developed.
Today, to welcome the snowy winter, let’s enjoy Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening (1923) by Robert Frost together with amazing paintings from BBuzzArt artist Dejan Trajković.
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy winds and downy flake.
The woods are lovely dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

About Dejan Trajković
Born in Leskovac 1973, Dejan Trajković grew up watching the paintings of old masters of Renaissance, Baroque and Realism. He received decisive influence from contemporary Russian painter Alexei Antonov, whom he learned the Flemish manner. As a member of the artistic group Barti of his country Serbia, he is active in the art field.
In the exhibition opening at Perunov gallery in 2016, art historian Milica Mihailovic describes Dejan Trajković’s paintings as depicting energy that is in constant circulation, one durability that is reflected through water, the river. This concentric circle of truth, is reflected in the prism of hyperrealism, light, photographic accuracy. The painting is a frozen moment. The artist’s opus is a trail to tackle the elusive.
Artists living in different time and space is connected with the same feelings towards the Nature. This inborn instinct, perception and reaction when performed in art has proven that we all share the same ‘language’. And we have the power to communicate.
