At least 15 injured in Indiana tornado

A series of three tornados has injured 15–20 people and damaged numerous infrastructures in Kokomo, Indiana.
Power outages
Kokomo Mayor Greg Goodnight stated of the disaster, “I am in a residential neighborhood and there is a lot of roof damage, windows out, a roof completely taken off the home, power out… It is pretty substantial. I have seen damage to about 50 homes so far. We are still looking at the damage.” Duke Energy reported 29,000 power outages, and IPL reported 7,500. A state of emergency has been declared in Howard County and Kokomo; all roads are closed until further notice.
Starbucks destroyed in storm
A Starbucks was destroyed in the storm, with 15 employees stuck inside the restroom, where the manager had instructed them to hide. None of the employees or customers were injured in the incident. The Indiana State Police stated of the injuries that have resulted from the storm, “All of the reported injuries are considered minor at this time. Most of the injuries were the result of flying debris. There are no reported deaths.” Tornados have been reported west of Crawfordville and east of Indianapolis.
