Giving a crap about your people
It can make all the difference in the world
I got called out the other day by a new twitter follower. He assumed because I had written a similar reply to all of my followers, I had to be using an auto-responder of some sort. He is dead wrong.
Between my two twitter accounts, @bccain and @gabeanroasters, I have asked similar questions to over 700 people. All of those have been within the last 2 months also.
Why do I do it?
Because I give a crap about the people who choose to follow what I have to say on social media. I genuinely want to know how they found me and what I can do for them right that instant.
How do I do it?
Simple. I hand type every reply. Every. Single. One. I do it with the expectation that it may cost me something. Just I am building that relationship. I am getting some leverage to use later.
Every once in a while, someone will actually reply and engage me in conversation. The person who called me out; saying he thought I used an autoresponder, is actually wanting me to mentor him through some side business stuff. He even hooked me up by using an affiliate code for a membership site.
Give a crap about your people. You never know when your jabs may work out before you throw your right hook (thanks @garyvee).
