I think it also depends on what you want to be and how much time you’re willing to invest. The thing that stood out to me about these individuals is that they would have spent enormous amounts of time learning diverse skills. It’s easy to call oneself a generalist but actually committing enough to be highly skilled in multiple areas is very difficult.
