Seascapes, narrow streets, flowered walls and window peeks

This beautiful city, on the Atlantic coast of southwest Spain, was one of our ports of call on a cruise in 2016.

It was my first trip to the Mediterranean coast of Europe.

The seacoasts were spectacular, with stunning vistas in every direction.

But what captivated my senses, were the intricate, intimate sights within these ancient cities.

Cadiz was full of charm and contrasts.

Its narrow streets had such tall buildings, the sun was blocked most of the day.

This kept the temperatures quite tolerable while exploring the city.
