Navratri is a multiday festival celebrated in india. As the name signifies “nav” means nine and “ratri” means night. The nine nights are the very auspicious night. The three main goddess is workshipped during navratri. The three goddess helps to destroy the impurities, evil powers, gain knowledge and also to gain wealth.

Navratri is celebrated 5 times in a year. Dates of the navratri is fixed according to the lunar calendar. The main three navratri which is celebrated is Sharat navratri, Vasant navratri, Ashad navratri. Among this three navratri Sharat navratri is important navratri which is celebrated in the month of September to octomber. The Sharad navratri is celebrated for durga. One this particular navratri only the maa durga killed the demon mahiasura. The ashadha navratri is celebrated during the july to august month.

2. Brahmcharani

3. Chandraghanta

4. Kushmunda

5. Skand mata

6. Katyayani

7. Kalratri

8. Maha Gauri

9. Siddhidartri

Each incarnation has their own significance. The final day of navratri is called as vijayadashmi. It is also a auspicious day to start of anything . eg.. small children start their school life on this special day.
