From 0 to successful entrepreneur, Day 0: background
Hello World,
My name is Bea. I am a lover of entrepreneurship, house music, positive attitude, and good food.
But that doesn’t matter.

I have decided it was time for me to unlock my full potential and I wanted to share my journey towards this self-actualization. I hope this can inspire others who feel as life-stagnant as I have felt. I have hired a business coach (aka Mr. Q) to help guide me along the way. His first texts to me:
“Are you ready to unlock your greatness? Together, we can make it happen.”
“Put on your seatbelt, it may be a bumpy ride (:”
A first phone conversation includes words like:
“The first time I met you, I was like ‘woah’.” “ I could feel your energy and it made me take a step back.”
“I knew you would call, I was just waiting.” “You are the ideal candidate.”
My guard is up; I am skeptical. I don’t know if Mr. Q is being sincere, or if this is just how he lands his clients. In any case, his references are good, and I am ready to take the risk.
He has me fill out some personality assessments. Here are the results:
Holland Codes: EAS — Enterprising, Artistic, Social
Myers Briggs scale: ENTP — Extrovert, Intuitive, Thinking, Perceiving
The Holland Codes describe my profile’s ideal career to be in: Competitive environments, leading, persuading, selling, dominating, promoting, status
The Myers Briggs scale describes my personality type as: Clever, cerebrally and verbally quick, generally love to argue, optimist, innovative and ingenious at problem-solving
It is clear to me, and a confirmation that I am meant for some form of entrepreneurship. What is interesting is that the Holland Codes point me to some form of entrepreneurship in an artistic and/or social environment. For a long time, I have toyed with the idea of running a nightclub. I have also often dismissed this idea as 1) it is a typical dream of many in the hospitality and nightlife industry, and 2) it requires a good amount of capital to start.
1) I don’t like to be typical, 2) I do not have any capital to invest.
Despite this dismissal, the idea of building the next Space Ibiza has still been on my mind.

A bit about me:
- Computer engineering diploma
- Extensive experience in graphic design and layout
- Extensive experience in the hotel and hospitality industry
- Experience in both the public and private sector
- Currently working as a sales engineer
- Hobbyist DJ
Goals for 2017:
- Be happy in my current position (clear up all the outstanding tasks I can, and accept that there are some things that I can’t control)
- Send in my taxes (I am late!)
- Make a budget and stick to it
- Reduce clutter and live as if I was ready for a move overseas
- Produce a house music track
- Start a plan to build a day- or nightclub
Current goals for 2018:
- Produce a top-grossing house music track
- Pay off a third of my debt
It’s 12:15 AM and my first meeting with Mr. Q is at 2 PM. I look forward to seeing just how Mr. Q can help unlock the potential of Bea Witty.
