Your Business Needs to Use Multiple Marketing Channels.

Print is not dead, you just think it is because you’re spoiled with digital.

If I had a dollar for every time a client said “everybody is on social media,” I would be a millionaire by now.

This something PR and marketing practitioners hear every single day. The fact of the matter is, while you and your friends may be on social media, a significant portion of adults in the United States are not. And even though Instagram has half a BILLION users, roughly 80% of them are OUTSIDE of the United States. Social media has hit a plateau in the USA, and your brand needs to expand its reach.

Who’s your target demographic? Probably people with discretionary income, AKA not people 21–32 years of age, unless they work in finance or have a trust fund. The generation above millennials is a decade behind us in social media. They’re still sending chain messages, we stopped doing that in 2008. They are still reading newspapers, getting direct mail advertising, listening to the radio, and haven’t been hit by the “Netflix and Chill” wave. Your brand needs to reach them in the medium they actually use.

So for the love of God (and your brand,) please invest in multiple marketing streams. Your business will thank you.
