Magic

Not knowing everything makes certain situations very interesting and mysterious in a sweet way, such as not knowing every single thing about someone you’re falling in love with. As you go along discovering pieces and putting them together to make the image whole, there is a magic involved in the process, a quite enjoyable sensation of curiosity and attraction that keeps you captivated. Up until the point of encountering the less fabulous aspects of a person, we tend to emphasise only the good, since that is always far more fascinating than analysing the human parts that we know so well from ourselves. So only when we are proven wrong, and maybe not even then, do we admit there is fault in the object of desire and love, otherwise we are keen to hold on to the illusion that they embody a superior kind of human, almost reaching perfection in some instances. Such is love, and it is very difficult to make up a list of characteristics, but it is rather simple to recognise by anyone once it takes over the heart. It is a very brave thing to love is what I think, a much more courageous approach to life than hiding from it. It is a most natural change, that of allowing yourself to be vulnerable and that of giving another the power to transform your life. The most magical part of the road though, is the beginning, that dreamy state of pure happiness and enthusiasm that comes specifically from not knowing any better. Which is wonderful. Perhaps in the end you will be hurt, perhaps you will become cynical, or maybe it will all work out and you will be happy forever , but no matter the outcome, a change means growth, if you are open to it. Once you allow yourself to be involved in a new situation, especially one involving the matters of the heart, it can only make you grow if you choose to treat it like a lesson should it not take the form you desire. I believe in magic. I believe that open hearts can create a gateway for magic to enter our lives.
