The Beginning

Years ago, on a day that changed my life forever, my late father gave me a lecture about the true nature of the United States Dollar. I can see the scene in my mind’s eye as clearly now as the day it happened. In his sitting room, he pulled a five dollar note and a ten dollar note out of his money band, and the conversation went like this…(his voice is in italics)…

“What is the difference between these two notes, my son?”
“One is is a five, and the other is a ten.”
“Yes, but how are they
different from each…

Bitcoin is a very new technology, even though the concept that it brings to life is decades old. The double spending problem has been solved; this means that it is possible to use a digital certificate to stand in the place of money and be sure that no one else can spend that certificate other than you as long as you hold it. This is an unprecedented paradigm shift, the implications of which are not yet fully understood, and for which the tools do not yet exist to fully take advantage of this new idea.

This new technology requires some…

Lightning flash across the night, fiat money split asunder. In a maelstrom of white light, clearest sound of rolling thunder.

At Azteco we’ve been experimenting with Lightning for over a year, refining our thinking, and user experience designs to perfectly express our ethos. Now we’re ready to offer Lightning to everyone everywhere with a compelling, irresistible service, restoring the experience of Bitcoin in its early days, where you could send and receive it for next to nothing by default.

Why Lightning?

In the early days of Bitcoin, you could send and receive it for a cost of pennies. It was on this experience that the entire dream of Bitcoin being “The Money of the Internet” was born.

With a small number of…

“He has erected a multitude of new offices, and sent hither swarms of officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance.”

Here is a story from a man in a dystopian future…or is it? Read on, and imagine yourself living as a Bitcoin user where this person lives.

My country is currently in the throes of a major Bitcoin crackdown. Almost a thousand people have been hired whose only job is to identify and track Bitcoin users.

Once identified, a person is fined (for “failure to disclose”), forced to provide their Bitcoin address(es), to list these Bitcoin addresses on all future tax returns (my country taxes savings & requires all savings reported, however small) and to register with financial supervisory authorities…

“Man From Tomorrow”

Here is an article by Michael Suede, published in 2011. When it was written most people reading it were openly hostile and dismissive to its thesis. Now many people can understand that it is not only plausible, but very probable. What did Michael Suede and many others know that you don’t know, and how were they able to predict how Bitcoin would change everything, even back in 2010? The question is interesting. What matters now is who knows what’s coming next. I assure you, the people who said Bitcoin would never work do not know.

Azteco expands its market penetration in its goal to create new service category “Consumer Bitcoin”. To do this, we are integrating out service with partners who want their users to be able to redeem our vouchers with a simple gesture. Edge wallet is just one of many forthcoming integrations, helping streamline and “Consumerise” the process of getting Bitcoin.

The Rise of Consumer Bitcoin

Encryption in chat was brought to over 300,000,000 daily users through WhatsApp. Before that, the billions of messages sent by the vast majority of chat apps were easy to read in transit and not private.

There were a few previous attempts to…

In The United States District Court for the District of Columbia, “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA v. LARRY DEAN HARMON”, Chief Judge Beryl A. Howell (a ‎Barack Hussein Obama appointee) made a problematic ruling on the nature of Bitcoin, relying only on hearsay and third party sources, which misguided her to a totally wrong conclusion. Here we dissect the part of the judgement that mischaracterises Bitcoin. It is full of errors, and should not have been used to make the judgement.

Bitcoin is not “a decentralized form of electronic or digital currency that exists only on the internet”. Bitcoin is a…

This is a transcript from a tweet storm.

The self righteous and fantastically rich people in the west who have the power to solve these problems many times over are not at all concerned with the plight of other people, and are satisfied with pontificating and endlessly describing the same problem over and over. PATHETIC

Thankfully because Bitcoin is software and software can’t care about who writes it, the problems of fiat will be solved by people who can describe a problem, think, and who aren’t Virtue Signalling, playacting cowards. This work is happening without their permission or knowledge.

Time is Bitcoin

Bitcoin is an amazing tool in many ways, and every one of its aspects is enough to drive its adoption across the world. There is one improvement however that’s often overlooked, and that’s how fast Bitcoin is compared to sending international bank transfers.

If you have money to send from A to B, you’ve got limited means at your disposal to get it done. Let’s say you’re in Finland and you want to send $20,000 to California. You don’t have many good options available to you, believe it or not, even in 2020.

Azteco vouchers are now redeemable directly to Bluewallet, bringing our best in class user experience to a wallet that allows you to redeem to Lightning. Bluewallet is doing great work to make getting and using Bitcoin and Lightning trivially easy. It is exactly this sort of tool combined with Azteco that will cause Bitcoin to spread globally.

Bluewallet…what is it?

Bluewallet is well designed and easy to use Bitcoin wallet, that is making great advances in the “Consumer Bitcoin” space. It is super easy to use and understand, and redeeming your Azteco Voucher takes only a few steps.
