who, what, where, when & why

I like writing. I like telling stories and most of all I like trying out new things. So hey there internet, I’m Becca.

I’ve been staring at the keyboard for a few minutes now but I really need to stop typing a sentence and deleting it or else this is going to go nowhere. So, hey again. I guess I’ll talk a little bit about myself, because who isnt a sucker for a good back story? Am I right? It doesnt really matter where I’m from (outside of Philly) or how old I am (19) so I’m just going to jump right into what I am doing here. Like I said before, I really like to write. and by ‘write’ I mean write anything. Essays, short stories, poems, children’s books, blog posts, you name it. I just like sharing my thoughts because a lot of the time I feel like Professor Charles Xavier with my mind on overload, except all of the voices are my own and I don’t have a sweet bald head, so that’s that.

I like letting it out somewhere so I don’t have to hold it all inside me. I’m Irish (0f Irish decent to be more correct) and we tend to bottle up all of our feelings, never letting them out for anyone to hear and hope that one day we don’t burst into a billion bits. That’s the goal… and I’m trying to cope with it this way.

I like to write about all sorts of things, but like any normal human being I don’t like everything. So I write about what frustrates me too, and what intrigues me, what I think needs to be changed and mainly things that are going on in my life. I lead a pretty simple life, but I figure that putting it down into writing can make anyone’s average life seem like an awesome adventure. Maybe? Let’s just go with that.

Here’s a little tidbit of what I’m doing right now: currently I am sitting in a Starbucks on my laptop that has a 17% battery life left, where I ordered a venti caramel iced coffee that I am 85% sure will give me the shits and make me regret my decision to ever try being cool ever again. LOL who am I kidding, I’m sure all of the hipsters of this day and age know that Starbucks hasn’t been ‘cool’ since 2010 and I’m just wasting my time in some mainstream coffee shop where I’m sipping on a drink that messes with my urinary and digestive system…ugh. Who’s the real winner here? … I’m being serious, I really don’t know… But don’t be fooled folks, this is not a daily activity, I’m just here for the free wifi and to help out a sista who’s studying for a summer anatomy class (I know, I’m a sweetheart).

So that’s me. I figured I would give this a try, because if you learned anything from the first sentence of this post, I like trying new things! I used to (and maybe still will) write some things over on my tumblr ((I’m praying that I actually do have the brain of a college student and I know how to insert a working hyperlink)). I started it a little while back and posted a few or my blogs because I didn’t like the way that the blog I wrote for my college was run and handled (F* the system, right?). I’ll talk about that at some point I’m sure… but for now, thanks for reading.
