What is out of your control, is under His rule.

The way seasons roll in and then come to a close so swiftly is astonishing to me!

I love to marvel in Autumn at the oranges, the reds and the yellows and the crunchy leaves underfoot. In Winter the pure, white snow on the ground whispers of little foot trails of small birds trying to find a nest. The Spring brings the bright vibrancy of daffodils and the colour radiates off the ground. The Summer rolls around with the glorious warmth and the blue skies and those long, beautiful nights. Isn’t it incredible?

The beauty of the seasons.

We have no control of the weather, the seasons, the time. Sometimes I also feel as if I’m not in control of other things in my life too. Relationships, future plans, situations, conversations.

But the way the earth revolves, the way the seasons change, shows that things are under control. Under the best control. Under His control. Under His rule.

Just turn to Luke in the Bible where Jesus, who was God in full humanity, says to his followers, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than the birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?” (Luke 12:22–25)

Do you feel like you’re not in control? Worrying endlessly? Finding it difficult to share your faith?

One of the most comforting promises to remember is that although you may not feel in control or that you have everything sorted, God does! How incredible is that! That’s not just in the big things but in everyday things too, such as how to talk about our faith to others or demonstrate our faith in our actions. We don’t need to stress or worry about whether we are sharing the Gospel in the correct way because God knows and he has it all under his control.

It is under His rule. He already knows what is going to happen. He knows the future. He has gone before you and His presence will surround you. Do not worry about what is to come or what to say or do. It is under His rule. Let’s become like the Ravens, and trust Him.
