How many times have I, hand to chest, been relieved I didn’t publish that! I contacted Glimmer Train last year to ‘please, dear God, delete everything I’ve ever submitted’. I couldn’t bear to look on my submission history because I might accidentally see one too many adverbs. It’s embarrassing. And I totally get that gut reaction to a manuscript that isn’t quite right- It is good for the soul to take the time- to revisit that novel or short story that didn’t hit the mark and make it into something worthwhile. Thanks for articulating.
