I then wonder how you feel about the phrase “Love your enemy.”

I can imagine a couple things that different types of people might say about this.

Some might say “I try to cultivate love for everyone, including my enemies. But trust is different, I only trust and work with those that have proved themselves to me.”

Some might say, “I have compassion for everyone, including my enemies. But not love.. love is something more personal and I won’t try to control it.”
