Eddie Murphy’s past homophobia (like in Raw) has been widely criticized.

Yes, with today’s eyes, not the early 80’s. It is a clear representation of what the world saw, thought, and laughed at…even by the Hollywood left. Delirious is something that didn’t cause anyone to bat an eye in 1983, unless they were gay. The protest from non-gays was about the profanity, not the gay jokes.

Delirious is something that would either not be made/released today, or would cause Murphy to become a pariah, not launch him into international stardom.

But that was then and this is now. Delirious doesn’t need to be fixed — it acts as a commentary of what the world accepted in 1983.
