NYM: How to Integrate with Telegram in Kali Linux

NYM Network is a privacy infrastructure that protects Internet traffic from snooping and unauthorized data collection. NYM Network uses a decentralized network of nodes that mix and encrypt traffic, hiding metadata such as IP addresses, location, time, and recipients of messages. NYM Network is compatible with a variety of applications and blockchains and provides “zero privacy” for all types of online communications.

Kali Linux: NymConnect + Telegram

To integrate NYM with Telegram, you need to follow the steps below:

NymConnect: installation and configuration

• Step 1. Update your system:

sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade

• Step 2. Download NymConnect from GitHub to your Dowloads folder:

wget https://github.com/nymtech/nym/releases/download/nym-connect-v1.1.21-kitkat/nym-connect_1.1.21_amd64.AppImage -P ~/Downloads

Note. All NYM releases can be downloaded from this page — https://github.com/nymtech/nym/releases. In our case we chose nym-wallet_1.2.9_amd64.AppImage

• Step 3. Set runtime permissions for the downloaded file:

chmod +x ~/Downloads/nym-connect_1.1.21_amd64.AppImage

Telegram: installation and configuration

You can install Telegram on Kali Linux using the official Telegram Desktop repository. Here’s how to do it:

• Step 4. Install Telegram Desktop

sudo apt install telegram-desktop

Now you have Telegram installed on Kali Linux and you can start using it for messaging and other operations.

Telegram and NymConnect: how to link up

• Step 5. Launch NymConnect. NymConnect can be launched by clicking on the downloaded file in the Downloads folder, or via the command:

~/Downloads/nym-connect_1.1.21_amd64.AppImage

• Step 6. Launch Telegram, copy Socks5 from NymConnect and paste it into Telegram. Find Telegram Desktop in the application menu or launch it from the terminal by typing the command:

telegram-desktop

• Open Settings → Advanced → Connection type → Use custom proxy
• Add a new proxy server of “SOCKS5” type and enter the address and port of the proxy server.
• Save the settings.

NYMConnect is now successfully installed and integrated with Telegram in Kali Linux. Note that NymConnect provides the ability to connect to Telegram through a secure network, which provides increased privacy and security for your messages.
