In 2009 I was held at the Canadian border and the officers demanded access to my phone and laptop. They used a text sent by a friend, joking about living in Canada, as a reason to ban me from entry. Thanks for raising awareness on this, almost no one I’ve told about my experience realizes the extent to which this happens.
