The nature and review of a film I do not contemplate, but after finding excellent reviews for the film, I forgot to think about them. Watching this film in the theatre had an important reason; the actor Rajkumar.

I was unhappy with myself because after watching the trailer of Bareilly ki Barfi, I thought he had also fallen into the trap of Bollywood commercial cinema. But, he surprised me.

The simple answer is I had underestimated the intellect and talent of the actor Rajkumar Rao.

Months after hearing great things about the film, I was not disappointed but elated that I was wrong.

Coming to the story of the Stree, which by the way is unique and fresh, but it also leaves ample room for the sequel, which I think, Dinesh Vijan, the producer of the Stree has already announced.

Forgive me, but, I always tend to jump into the past. Many a time in the past, when I happen to see the film after reading great reviews of the film, I was almost always severely disappointed.

The reason, perhaps, is that you commence watching the film in anticipation of great moments without enjoying the normal moments passing by, which, I think is also true for our life.

Another notion, which I think is true for our life is the suffering. When you commence a task with an expectation, one always suffers because the imagination builds the huge palace which crumbles as soon as you meet reality.

Actors of the movie have done an excellent job because they had the great story and good dialogues with an engaging plot which made the audience catch the right emotions at the right time.

The person sitting in the same row in the single screen cinema hall to which I went to see the film was in sync with every other person in the theatre. Stree connected with the audience.

The commercial progress of the Stree at the Box office is the sign of changing times as many of the critics and reviewers and audiences have rightly pointed out.

Many reviewers and critics complain about the songs in the film, which, they think slows down the pace of the film and is often unsuitable. I don’t know the reason but the artistic and cinematic freedom, along with the market and distributor demand is equally compelling for the producers.

Writers have created the character that can definitely move into the second instalment of the Stree.

The ending of the movie and the character played by Shraddha Kapoor demand a story, which, I think writers have already in mind. The character played by Kapoor is fresh and captures you with its charming qualities, novelty, and mysteries. Raaj — DK will develop a story around the character played by Kapoor, to be made into a film.

Everything talked about the film, especially gender discrimination and various other issues, are represented in a subtle way, and this demands applause and recommendations. They are the illustrations of the period and course of the current situations and capturing them is also one of the parts of the art and cinema.
