You’ll Never Know

You’ll never know these words, I uttered in your absence. Now we are strangers maybe, you’ll hear them on the wind.

You’ll never know the secret scribbles, behind locked pages.

The unanswered sweet nothings, I whispered into the night.

I addressed the envelopes to you… However, I think the pigeons got lost.

I used to write about the love you made me feel, an intoxicating swell almost addictive as your favourite drug.

I am sober now, beers don't taste the same without you, my morning coffee and cigarette has lost its comfort.

We are strangers now, my heart stopped along with the beat of our drum, a flat lined memory with no resurrection.

I have a confession, there is no trace left of you, not because of the lies your mind might tell you… But because, my heart cant take it, its too painful some days, to be reminded even of the good.
