Home for the holidays

snapshots from Christmas 2013

The Christmas holiday is one of my favorite times of the year. Not just because of the lights and traditions, but for the time with family and friends. Here are some of my favorite moments from this year.

Bumping into Santa himself in downtown Los Gatos and taking fireball shots with my younger brother, who I hadn’t seen since our sister’s wedding in August!

My grandmother made family stockings for us when we were younger and as a wedding gift she made one for Chris. We were excited to celebrate our second Christmas as husband and wife.

I made ornaments last year with my mother-in-law from leftover decorations from our wedding. It was so much fun seeing it hanging on the tree!

We put on our holiday best and went to the Christmas eve midnight candle lit service at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. It is one of my favorite holiday traditions — singing Christmas songs to the soft glow of tiny candles.

Bocce ball with my parents and siblings!

Ever since I can remember, my Dad and my uncle John have been building rockets for holidays and big family gatherings. This year Chris joined in and built his first rocket, to launch the day after Christmas. It was so much fun!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas season and has a wonderful New Year. Best wishes in 2014.
