Excellent article, I wish more people would read articles like this and try to understand why we are not making headway in the fight against climate change in the U.S. The approach of the last 20+ yrs, i.e. focus on the enormous effects of climate change on the entire planet is overwhelming and depressing for most people (and doesn’t link to their everyday lives or things they immediately care about). The fact is though climate change is already and will continue to have effects on people’s every day lives, i.e. increased heat waves, droughts, extreme floods, sea level rise, and it is already affecting the world’s poorest people the most. Climate change has very real effects on people and our environment in every region of this country, and we need to bring those effects home to people. Also the emphasis needs to be on the here and now, not just on the future.
