In my experience, two distinct ways to “consistently [demonstrate] how senior leaders made decisions” and thus empower subordinates are to 1) explain your decisions and decision-making rationale to subordinates every time that circumstances permit, and 2) to make it a point to ask subordinates “what do you think,” either before or after a decision is taken. These are incredibly powerful tools for developing the members of your team.
