Connecting NZ — Week 1
Sitting in the board room yesterday was one of those moments that you know are going to be remembered as something special. All the right people in the right place as the right time.

I vividly remember sitting in the Orange Sky bus with Nic and Lucas well over one year ago now and pitching my passion and interest in what they were doing. At that time I was far from thinking about being part of a team talking about the launch of a New Zealand vehicle and then expanding all over the world.
It took me a little bit of yesterday afternoon to thinking through the more things that need to happen before we get to NZ to realise what an amazing thing is about to happen. International expansion is huge and deserves a couple of minutes to pause amongst all the pressure to make it happen.

Reflecting on what Nic said about capturing this moment, hopefully, i can get as much of the details down during the next month to help support future expansions. It is more about capturing and honest reflection of challenges, success and mistakes than something glorified about how amazing we all are.
I totally need your help though and would love to talk with everyone about their challenges, wins and interesting moments during this time. It can be very difficult to pause and reflect when this is happening so will try to make it as organic as possible.
My biggest takeaways from today's meeting includes:
- We don’t have the $ but we do have the right people and the support from a number of people in NZ
- Everyone has a handle on what they need to do and if focused on doing this together
- There is flexibility to our approach and at anytime our NZ hybrid can be shipped off to Cairns to help more people doing it tough
- We need to test the temperature of Orange Sky launching during the World Homelessness Day activities
- We have a long way to go to learn more about Māori culture and legal requirements
- We still have tonnes of paper work to do
- The may be leaving as early as the 19th May
- We have guests from Wellington coming next week
- I need to clean my desk
Just a gental reminder of one of our issues riding into NZ and USA in the video below ;)
Can’t wait to ride the wave this next week and feel empowered to do my best surrounded by so many passionate and capable people.
