How to set up a Home Server (Windows)

What is a Home Server?

A home server is simply any computer device that you set up using a home network. It provides multiple utilities to the users and anyone can set one up with an old computing device laying around in the house. Specification

Before setting up a home server, we have to talk about the specification/hardware needed for one. Without going in-depth, here are some general guidelines you can follow. Remember, your hardware requirement depends heavily on what you using your home server for.

CPU

  • CPU is the main processor for the server. Recommend having at least 4 cores of CPU
  • Most CPUs should meet the needs of a regular home server. So just get the most value readily available to you.
