He instructed his agent to only negotiate with FC Barcelona, and the club respected his wishes by striking a deal. The agreed fixed transfer fee of €30 million, with an additional €30 million in add-ons, making the total cost of the operation €60 million. Vitor Roque has signed a contract until 2029, and his release clause stands at a staggering €1 billion.
The plan is for Vitor Roque to join FC Barcelona in January 2024, as it would be easier for the club to register the player during that transfer window. However, if the player wishes to arrive this summer, the deal must be completed before July 30th to allow Athletico Paranaense to sign a replacement. Barring any surprises, the young talent will be donning the Blaugrana jersey in January 2023.
