Three hot tea recipes to warm you up.

What is autumn personally for you? Many people — many minds, but the majority would say that it is the time of diseases and all types of cold. Do you want to enjoy this season, instead of complaining about it? That is up to you to decide! Once you understand that the nature is wonderful under any types of condition — you become happy, so do it! I realized that autumn is charm by its nature, but my personal efforts may help me make this season special for me. How? I plunge into my hobby entirely, I am a photograph. You can imagine how many opportunities for professional practice I have in autumn, there is no season like this, there is no weather like the autumn one. Even some tidy misfortunes cant prevent me from enjoining it. However still, while making photos you may forget about time and spend more hours outdoors, that increases the risk of falling ill. So, I started looking for something that can protect me from negative consequences of «too much fresh air». And now, my second hobby cooking helped me.

I enjoy bright, tasteful beverages, which can create a special atmosphere and mood, make you active and full of energy — it depends on the type of tea, tea leaves.

Personally I adore black tea and have some really fun addings to your cup of tea that can help you make an everlasting impression on your guests and feel good in cold autumn evenings. Tea is so great for your body, mind, and spirit.

For me, must have for any cup of tea is definitely lemon. Squeeze half the juice of a lemon to you next cup. It brings a slightly sweet and acidic punch that is also so healthy for your skin, liver and your blood. So, be drinking tea you gain double profit — you make your mood better, health stronger, days more pleasant! As a bonus, it’s sugar-free and a great way to flavor the tea. Lemon also has Vitamin C and is great to put in your tea if you have a cold or illness or to prevent all kinds of illnesses during the long autumn days!

I can’t but mention the most common, but still the most tasteful addition to your tea! Cinnamon which makes a great addition to any tea, since it is a natural metabolism-booster. Plus, cinnamon is such a warming, cozy spice, which is necessary in such a chilly autumn season.

I think it is high time to propose you recipes. These are me favourite ones:

Hot Tea Toddy

To make a tasteful tea, you need:

  • black tea leaves
  • 35 oz dark rum (if you are not a fan of alcohol, you may add less)
  • 1/2 tsp honey
  • fresh ginger root (it is also possible to substitute it with sugared ginger root)
  • slice of some citrus (it will do to use lemon or orange)
  • stick of cinnamon

How to make Hot Tea Toddy:

Put all the ingredient to a small pot, make them warm, but do not boil the water.

Then pour your tea, be sure to use a warm cup, it will help you to create an everlasting, bring taste to your cup. If you wish, you still can use a slice of sugared ginger.

I also prefer orange to lemon as it is the very fruit that can create Christmas atmosphere and add a unique tropical taste. This recipe I found at allrecipes.com.

Indian Tea Recipe

To prepare this beverage we need:

  • 5 oz hot black tea
  • 1 tsp sugar ( if you want it to be sweeter, add more sugar)
  • 3/4 oz amaretto almond liqueur
  • 1 oz gold rum

This cocktail is really easy to prepare. Brew black tea in a small saucepan (you need to simmer it for 2 minutes), then add sugar, amaretto liqueur and rum. Mix everything and pour it into a warm cup and enjoy this lovely Indian beverage.

Fireside Tea recipe

To prepare this beverage we need:

  • 1 oz dark rum
  • 5 oz hot black tea
  • 1 lemon wedge
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 tsp sugar

Pour tea into a heat-proof goblet, and sweeten to taste. Add rum, wedge-shaped slice of lemon, and a cinnamon stick and now just enjoy it. If you keep a diet you can do without sugar it will never spoil the taste of your tea.

For these cocktails you just need strong black tea of high quality without any flavours. That’s why India black tea suits better (taste of Chinese seems to me not strong and distinct enough) -Assam or Darjeeling. Recently I’ve started using Assam Halmari tea .

Hope, my recipes will help you to warm up during cold but pleasant evenings, make your recipes new by adding favourite ingredients, remember that not only the tea cup can please you,, but friends. Autumn is cold season, but now you know more ways how to make autumn days pleasant for you and how to prevent autumn diseases. Last two recipes I found here , there are many of different cocktails, you may find smth to your taste. Enjoy pleasant and warm atmosphere of tea drinking!
