My Thursday BEST: Brands

If I think really hard and clear my head, I can remember my first iPod. The 1st gen “gumstick” iPod Shuffle. Thinking back harder I can recall becoming aware of the existance of Steve Jobs and his revolutionary iPod. I saw him on a magazine cover holding an iPod, wearing the iconic white earbuds, grinning triumphantly.

Whenever the inception of my love for Apple occurred may have been, the damage has long since done and I am an Apple Fanboy. I don’t like the designation so much since I like to remained biased when discussing technology, but I will more than likely use Apple products and have an Apple-centric home for years and years to come.

I’ve had more iPods and iPhones than anyone I know and I rely on the products I use to this day quite a lot. I can’t imagine life without my iPhone, MacBook Air, or my Apple Watch. They’ve become a part of who I am. Even though I would like to play around with some Android and Windows devices just for the experience, I can identify with the Apple brand confidently.

In the wake of the recent news about the FBI’s clash with Tim Cook and Apple, there’s a whole new level of admiration to be found in the company. While I understand that it’s unsettling that Apple will not unlock the San Bernadino shooter’s phone to help with the investigation, I would much rather support a company or companies that play fair. Call me naiive or a sheep, but the fact that Apple and Google are in agreeance on the issue and standing up for their users and their brand is comforting, in a way…

I hope that Apple will continue to innovate and create products and remain one of my favorite and most loved brands.
