Guilt by Adjacency

Very well put! I’ve always found JBP to be a bit silly (occasionally prescient but mostly woolly-headed) but nowhere near as silly as his detractors, who act like he’s Satan incarnate, or his acolytes who treat him like he’s some sort of pope. I found him fascinating for a time and wrote a couple of pieces about him, but eventually I just got bored with him. I hope we’ve now reached Peak Peterson and that we can all just chill out and see him for what he is: a goofy Canadian psych professor with a lobster fixation.
