Unicorn hunt

Time for a little update.

As planned I quit my job in full employment at Tweek in October, 2014 to start a freelancing career, at the latest in 2015. And what I can I tell: so far it seems to work out greatly.

My first project I finished as the new-born and so-called Designer/Developer Unicorn, straight away happened to be a front end job of which I hopefully can reveal some details in the near future. You’ll see it here first, of course.

Said job posed a challenge for me at the beginning because though I’m pretty confident with my ability to adapt to challenging situations — actually this was the main reason to take on this task — I wasn’t confident in my front end skills right away. Turns out everything went well at the end, I overcame initial anxiety and definitely grew on that first big project.

Luckily following projects came in solely by referrals and personal recommendation and up until now they have been pure design jobs, all in a wide variety though. Some for smaller clients with whom I communicate directly and some via agencies and therefore bigger clients.

All in all jobwise I couldn’t be happier and I plan to keep you posted on that more often in the near future.

Besides that: Currently I’m eagerly hunting for my own flat in Berlin as I move out of the two-person shared flat at the beginning of April. So if any of you happen to know something or someone, please forward it to me. I would say I’m really not that picky, searching for a two-room-apartment in the areas of Mitte, Prenzlauerberg, Kreuzberg, Fhain or Neukölln. Price is definitely negotiable. That’s basically it.

Thank you all for any hints and tips.
